Burgundy, wine, sherry, black cherry, cranberry...whatever you want to call this color, it remains popular for weddings. Hm, suddenly I'm feeling thirsty. Anyways....
For a while, I thought about what I wanted my first blog post to be, but as the 2019 wedding season comes in sweet like wine, I have to take a moment to reflect on the gorgeous weddings that we were a part of in past years. So many of you trusted us to make your wedding florals and believe me, we do not take the responsibility lightly. Let's reflect on the popular (and very tasty!) wedding color, wine. I mean burgundy! Well, you get the idea.
Nichole came to us with the ideas for her September wedding, which included a burgundy and cream color palette. We used cream colored roses and veronica, with lots of interesting foliage and shapes to create texture and dimension.
Burgundy was and continues to be a special fall trend for our brides... here's a look at a similar color palette with Jackie's 2018 wedding.
Jackie made such a beautiful bride, didn't she? Jackie's color palette was burgundy & red, with hits of cream & white; her bridesmaids in navy, a very classic and elegant color combo. She was interested in having a flowing, natural look to her wedding, and we love the results!
We also got to use a favorite flower of ours in Jackie's wedding, the huge, stunning burgundy dahlia. All of our dahlias are grown locally right here in the Irish Hills by our friend Abigale.
Some of the florals at Jackie's wedding included this arch and the sign, which featured some of the florals of her wedding bouquet, as well as the fragrant rosemary herb, with a delicate scent that wafted over her guests while Jackie & Jeff exchanged their vows. They say scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, so I'm sure her guests won't forget this memorable ceremony!
